Cheryl approaches portraiture just as she does her gallery work: with

dramatic vision and style, always looking for a genuine glimpse into the

soul of her subjects. She works gently to find those breathtaking moments,

taking whatever time is necessary to get beyond physical appearance and into

essence. She values simplicity, avoiding unnecessary elements in favor of

honest and respectful portraiture.

Rather than dictating her subjects expressions, Cheryl prefers to spend time

interacting with them and then recording the resulting moods. She will never tell a

child to smile; she prefers to get smiles through interaction and play, rather than

by command.

Cheryl schedules no more than three sessions per week, fully investing herself

in every session. She works on location rather than in a sterile studio setting,

encorporating her subjects' environment into her work. Session fees begin at

$350US, and print prices begin at $150US for a handmade fiber 8x10 portrait.
